Session Title:  Guardians - Promoting Choice with Support

Date:  January 22, 2020

Time 1PM - 2PM EST

Session Description:

Do you work with a guardian who has a tendency to “take over” decision-making for a person you support?  It’s important for us to understand the mindset and perspectives of the guardian in such instances.  Concerns about taking risks and beliefs about decision making capabilities – especially when paired with an overwhelming desire to protect the person – need to be taken seriously.  This session will explore ways to support the guardian that also empower the person to make choices and experience self-determination in life.
